DUILA’s NEXT STEP members as well as the Orange County Sheriff Department Exploreres helped make a local Human Options shelter house into a “home.” 40 victims of domestic violence – women with children – rely on this confidential location for safety, counseling, and support for 45 days after fleeing their abusive situation. Donations were collected to help the victims of domestic violence.

Students from various Orange County high schools and Orange County Sheriff Department Exploreres attend the event not only for a worthy cause, but to enjoy a little sun, fun and relaxation on August 22, 2011 at Corona Del Mar beach. Students earn community service hours for their efforts.
Student and Explorers watched Orange County Sheriff's Harbor Patrol boat demonstrate their water gun and alert signal.
