Since 1988, Orange County has been celebrating Red Ribbon Week, a national drug prevention effort that takes place during the last week in October. Drug Use Is Life Abuse has played a leading role in this effort. Over the past 19 years, we have provided Red Ribbon wristbands to every school-aged child in the public and private schools as well as many businesses and government agencies throughout Orange County. This is an astounding 1,000,000 Red Ribbon wristbands annually. Additionally, we help to coordinate a business incentive program that allows the students wearing Red Ribbons to receive an incentive gift in recognition of their being drug-free. We are proud to be the only organization that services the entire county in this way and provides all materials free-of-charge.
